Children

At Shepherd of the Valley we make it a priority to teach our children about God's love and grace through studying and experiencing God's Word in a variety of different settings.

Children’s Worship Bags

Worship bags can be found in the baskets in the Narthex during both Sunday services. Each worship bag has a book, children’s bulletin, crayons, and a small snack. Please return the reusable items, such as bags, books, and crayons to the baskets in the Narthex as you leave worship.

Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

All Generation's Sunday School is a time for children to learn together with their families and other children.  It is a fun and meaningful experinece to learn with your child.  You know what they are learning and can talk about it later at home.  This really allows faith to be taken from the church to the rest of the days of the week. Sometimes parents have said they are learning things with their children that they would have never knew if they had not been in the class. During our time together we seek to empower kids’ creativity and imagination. As people of many different age groups explore Scripture together, great relationship are formed.  This all happens in Burn's Fellowship Hall.

Wednesday Night Kids’ Club - 6:45-8:00 p.m.

Following our Mid-Week Underground Worship Service(5:45 to 6:45 pm), Children of all ages can enjoy Bible stories, projects, games, and snacks. We meet at 6:45 in the fellowship hall and then go to our rooms with out teachers.  Parents are always welcome to visit any class they might desire.  There are also adult education classes for Adults and Youth.

First Communion Class

At Shepherd of the Valley, everyone is welcome to receive communion during worship. A First Communion Class is recommended for all children in 2nd grade and up, or even adults who would like to learn more about communion or who would like to receive and celebrate their first communion in worship. First Communion Classes occur each year.

Third Grade Bibles

Each year a new Bible is presented to each 3rd grader during worship in the Fall.
